Holidays are for GIVING!

Hi Ladies!!

With the holidays coming so soon I thought I'd share with you some great giving ideas I read about in Glamour magazine. This is from their article 31 Days of Giving.

#1 Help get PJs to kids in shelters so they won't have to sleep in their clothes by giving just $10 at pajamaprogram.org

#2 Mentor a struggling student online at icouldbe.org.

#3 Donate books you've already read to your library.

#5 Fight malnutrition. A $1 gift to vitaminangels.org will provide much-needed vitamin supplements to children in places like Honduras & Haiti.

#6 Tend a garden. $5 to dinnergarden.org buys seeds for enough veggies to feed a struggling family of seven.

#7 Do some pro bono work. Whether you're in marking or IT, taprootfoundation.org can match you with a nonprofit in your community that needs your skills.

#9 Click and give. At care2.org, every click you make prompts a sponsor to make a donation that will fight breast cancer, global warming and more.

#10 Use GoodSearch to find what you're looking for online, and every search will send money to a cause of your choice.

#14 Send a free holiday card to a soldier abroad via redcross.org/email/saf.

#16 Keep someone's lights on. Even $5 at smallcanbebig.org makes a difference to a family who needs help with bills due to illness, domestic violence or other tragedies.

#21 Feed four children in Tanzania a healthy breakfast for just $1 at gocampaign.org a nonprofit run with the help of kids from the United States.

#22 Warm toes. $5 to hannahssocks.org buys seven pairs for a homeless person.

#23 Play trivia. At freekibble.com every answer - right or wrong- sends 10 pieces of dog food to an animal shelter.

#25 Stock a refrigerator. Just $1 to feedingamerica.org will provide nine pounds of groceries to a hungry family in the US.

Giving is beautiful!!

Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion Giveaway

Skin MD Natural is giving me the chance to provide one of you with a bottle of their Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion, that I reviewed here.

Skin MD Natural is a shielding lotion, a very special type of lotion helping the skin restore its integrity, enhance its protective functions so that the skin is able to heal naturally and regain its youthful appearance. Skin MD Natural works by bonding with cells of the skin's outermost layer to form what works as an invisible shield. This layer of protection prevents environmental irritants and pollutants from penetrating the skin, while sealing in the skin's own natural oils and moisture, helping resolve the dry skin condition.

Skin MD Natural uses only the finest natural ingredients, and is focused on urging the skin to be active, and to use its own moisture to effectively heal itself. It is not oily or sticky, doesn't sit on top of your skin leaving a greasy residue on everything you touch, it doesn't rub or wash off easily, is hypoallergenic, fragrance, colorant and paraben free and dermatology tested.

Information above is from the Skin MD Natural website.

Update & FOTD

Hi Ladies!!

I just wanted to give you a quickie update...I've been sick for the past few weeks so I haven't been updating or even been around as much as I would like, but I've been trying to post a few things here & there for you. ;)

I'm not sure if it's the weather or being sick, but I just haven't been in the mood to do much when I get home from work. I get in, change into pj's, & watch TV ALL night till it's time to go to bed..lol  Anyone else start to hibernate when winter comes around..??

********************************************************
A few of my YT subbies & a few of you lovely ladies have asked me what makeup I was wearing in my most recent blog entries/videos. BTW--If you haven't already noticed I like to film several videos in 1one day, I don't like wasting good makeup & lighting..haha!! Sorry I don't have a close up picture.  =(

Here's the FOTD

Face
Almay Pure Blends Foundation in Honey
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach
Avon Jillian Dempsey Blush in Vintage Shimmer

Eyes
Maybelline Eyeshadow palette in Gratifying Green - I used the colors the way the palette has them labelled to be used.
ELF lashes in dramatic

Lips
Carmex

This was a really simple look, but I think the lashes really made the look pop.

Has anyone else tried the eyeshadow palettes from the Maybelline Bold Collection..?  They're my new favorites..

Project 10 Pan

Hi Ladies!!

Above is a video with the items I'm going to try to finish during my Project 10 Pan experiment. I wasn't going to participate in this since I've been on a no buy for so long, but I decided I have a lot of products (especially lip products) that I should finish before I decide to add more to my collection.

Are you currently doing Project 10 Pan..?? What products do you find hardest to finish..??

Cady Nation Jewelry by Diana

Just a little while ago I asked Diana from Cady Nation if she would make me some tensha earrings that didn't dangle too much. While I love my dangling tensha earrings they tend to get caught on my phone at work, and I'm always scared I'm going to break one.  =(

Diana agreed to make a pair & the results are amazing!

I tried my best to capture their beauty with my camera, but I'm afraid I failed.  =(

This is a picture that Diana took of the earrings..

Now if you have ever received a package from Diana then you know that this was all beautifully wrapped, but I just couldn't wait to open the package and see what the earrings looked like in person. Sorry I don't have any pictures of her excellent wrapping/packaging skills. You're just gonna have to take my word for it. ;)

She also included some of her favorite teas in the packages. Thank you so much!! The Chamomile/Mango one is so YUMMY!!

Below are some pictures I took to give you an idea of how they dangle. I love the length!

Aren't these earrings stunning?? I am absolutely in love with them!! You did a wonderful job Diana!! Thank you!!

Product Review - Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion

Product Review - Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion

Skin MD Natural contacted me a few weeks ago, and asked me to try their product.

From the Skin MD Natural Website:

A shielding lotion does much more than just treat dry skin – it’s a new kind of skin care product that makes a real difference to all skin types.
Skin MD Natural™ utilizes the finest effective natural ingredients for dry skin treatment along with the latest advances in technology to hydrate and protect the skin.

This is an entirely new concept in skin care requiring a new classification: "Shielding Lotion". A shielding lotion keeps moisture-robbing irritants away from the skin while the proprietary "super" humectants hydrate the skin throughout the day.

Skin MD Natural™ is promptly absorbed, without the slightest hint of any greasy or oily feeling or residue, transforming the outer layer of skin into a hydrating invisible shield.

Glycerin has been the standard against which all humectants are measured. Until now no other humectant drew in as much moisture from the air as glycerin. But the proprietary formulation in Skin MD Natural has a moisturizing factor of at least 6 times greater than glycerin. Combined with its protective properties and natural ingredients, this makes Skin MD Natural a truly unique product.

An accumulated effect of Skin MD Natural is fully realized after only a few days of daily use. Depending on how dry your skin is the first few days may require reapplications after only a few hours. Usually, after a few days of continuous use, only one or two daily applications are necessary to see the improvement.

I do have to say that at first I was a bit skeptical about this product. My reason for this being is that this lotion is incredibly thin & light feeling, I didn't see how this product could possibly be made for dry skin.

At first I thought was right and that this product wasn't doing it's job, but that's because I wasn't being patient. This product doesn't claim to 'instantly' change your dry skin, but that results will occur after a few days of use. The first time I used this product I did have to reply apply several times throughout the day (legs), but after a week I noticed that 1 application was enough for one day. WOAH!! This is surprising to me because I shave my legs daily & I usually have to apply lotion at least 3 times a day to prevent my legs from looking dry.

Pros
-Light weight
-Does not leave your skin feeling greasy.
-Locks the moisture into your skin.

Cons
-The product is a bit runny, which makes it easy to waste product.

Overall
I will purchase this product again. I am interested in seeing how well this works in the summer when my skin has the most problems. The reviews on the website for how well this product works on your face are amazing!! In all honesty I haven't given this lotion a REAL chance on my face because that would mean reapplying several times throughout the day, and that would mean me NOT wearing any type of makeup. Errrr..concealer is how I look awake most mornings. I'll be sure to try this product on my face on a long weekend though, and I will report back to you.  ;)

According to the wesbite this lotion works really well for those with eczema & psorasis.  I can't tell you my personal experiences with that because I have neither, but I do think that this product is worth a try if you have these skin problems.

Go to Skin MD Natural to find a retailer close to your location.

Psstt..Keep your eyes peeled because I will be hosting a contest soon & you will get a chance to win your own bottle of Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion.
